The Fabricademy, Textile Academy Bootcamp 2023, is an in-depth intensive 7 days course meant for creatives, designers, both teachers and students and digital fabrication experts.
It is an immersive experience during which the participants explore new possibilities and alternatives to the current textile and clothing manufacturing systems, guided by technologists, textile and fashion designers, computational experts and other specialists in the fields from all over the world. It is the best introduction to the program for the ones that are interested in textile technology innovation.

Design, fabricate, hack and customize tools and DIY machines for textile and yarn production, for processing fibers into fabrics.

Focus Group

Researching and experimenting together. Ideate & Develop a project in a team with experts and participants around the topics tackled in the program.

A: Students and Professionals, Designers, Makers, craftsman, artists, digital fabrication experts and curious minds.
Q: What will I learn?
A: You will learn how to lasercut seamless garments, biofabricating colors and materials, crafting soft sensors to embed in textiles and wearables, 3D printing on fabrics, experimenting new processes and blend several digital fabrication technologies with local crafts techniques.

Q: All the materials are included?
A: Yes, the fee includes all the materials and the use of all lab equipment. You can bring additional materials if you want to experiment with.
Q: Will I get any certificate?
A: Yes, we will provide you with the Fabricademy Certificate of Attendance.
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Participants should bring their own laptop. In case you don't have one, please inform us in advance. Materials for experimentation and a notebook are also recommended.
Q: What is the 1 day pass?
A: The 1-day pass is for the participants willing to attend only 1 full day of the bootcamp. You can sign up for 2 days by purchasing 2 single-day passes.
Q: Are there any events open and free to the public?
A: Yes, an open workshop, held in Wadi Rum on the afternoon of the 25th of May and the Open Exhibition & Talks held at the end fo the event, May 27th at the Fab Lab TechWorks Amman.
Q: Does the Bootcamp prepare me for the Fabricademy course?
A: Yes, the Bootcamp is the best way to get introduced to the fabricademy content and get prepared for the full program starting in September.
Q: Should I book by myself an accomodation in Amman?
A: Yes, please book your hotel in advance. As soon as we receive your attendance confirmation you will also receive a list of suggested hotels.
Q: Do I have to know something before coming?
A: No. A basic knowledge in textiles, 3D modeling and digital fabrication will make your experience more interesting.
Q: Can you issue an invoice for my company?
A: Yes. Make sure to provide all the necessary information including company name, address, tax ID, at the moment you register.
